Phoenix Rising - Thu 27th Oct, 3pm - 7pm

Rape Crisis Midwest launched their newly designed website www.rapecrisis.ie at Limerick City Hall last Thursday, 27th October. "The newly designed website will give comprehensive advice and support links to survivors of sexual abuse and those in the aftermath of rape and sexual assault” says Miriam Duffy, Executive Director.

In addition, a one day exhibition by various community groups in the Midwest area relating to domestic and sexual violence was also held – exhibitors included Adapt Services, Ascend, Pieta House, Adults Counselling Service and Cari. In total, over 15 Organisations exhibited details of their services that day. The day was a great success and was launched by Mayor Jim Long. In attendance also was Richard Lynch from I Love Limerick who is a great supporter of the work here at Rape Crisis.

The vision of Rape Crisis Midwest is of a society where the right of all adults and children to live a life free from all forms of sexual violence is upheld - the centre also informs changes in legislation, education, policy development and societal attitudes on a local, regional and national level, to benefit all society.
